Job Title: Fish Hatchery Crew Member
Department: Natural Resource Department
Hourly Rate: $8.50/hr Seasonal – 40 Hours
Summary: The Fish Hatchery Crew Member will be responsible for the seasonal activities associated with the operation and maintenance of the Bad River Tribal Fish Hatchery and rearing Facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The Fish Hatchery Crew Member will be responsible for collection and proper care of wild walleye brood stock; for preparation and maintenance of rearing pond(s); for egg fertilization and incubation; for hatching, transportation and stocking of walleye fry; for fingerling production, harvest, transport and stocking; for the proper use, maintenance and storage of all equipment, and will assist in maintaining hatchery production and expense records. Additional duties may be assigned as funding permits for special projects at the discretion of the Natural Resource Department and the Bad River Tribe.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Must be familiar with proper operation and maintenance of boats, outboard motors and power equipment.
Be able to perform minor mechanical repairs on plumbing, electrical systems and power equipment.
Minimum one (1) year experience in fish hatchery operations or relevant fishing experience.
Other Skills and Abilities:
This is a required driver position.
Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and meet eligibility for tribal insurance.
Must be self-motivating, able to work with minimal supervision.
Trustworthy, dependable, and willing to work irregular hours.
Must be a good swimmer.
This position is contingent on ability to pass background check required. This position requires for eligibility a required driver check, to meet eligibility for Tribal Insurance.

Must be physically able to perform all job duties, including field work. Walking, standing, bending, stooping and occasional lifting up to 50lbs., and/or carrying for short distances required.
