Job Title:                             Policy Analyst

Summary: The Policy Analyst Position works with the tribal government to provide management and administrative staff services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Assist and advise the tribal government in ensuring and demonstrating compliance with federally, state and private funding and in sustaining the effective implementation of the programs and the activities related thereto; and provide legal and policy analysis to implement federally, state and private funded programs, including drafting agreements and reviewing contracts.

Educational and/or Experience:

Required:

Training and Licenses:

Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school.

Active license to practice or eligible for active license to practice in Wisconsin and eligible to sit for Bad River Tribal Court Bar exam.

Experience:

Demonstrated knowledge of Federal Indian law with a minimum two years of experience practicing law or the equivalent school practicum work.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Required:

This is a required driver position.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet eligibility for tribal insurance.

Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment in achieving goals of the tribal government.

A willingness to assume a varied caseload.

Strong work ethic.

Background Check:

This position is contingent on ability to pass required security background check. This position requires a driver’s record check, to meet eligibility for Tribal Insurance.

Language Skills:

Excellent writing, speaking and interpersonal skills.
