Job Title:                             Abinoojiyag Resource Center (ARC) In Home Support Services (IHSS) Case Manager

Department:                        Social & Family Services Department

Hourly Rate:                       $15.00/hr (Starting)                                           Starting at 20/hrs/wk potential to go full time.

Exempt:                               Non Exempt

Responsible To:                   Abinoojiyag Resource Center (ARC) Program Manager

Summary: The In Home Support Services (IHSS) Case Manager will be responsible for providing case management services for on reservation at risk families for potential of out of home placement. This position will also be assigned to work with at risk families; develop case plans (informal resolutions) to prevent out of home placement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

The IHSS Case Manager will conduct:

Will conduct comprehensive assessments on each family.

Develop a voluntary case plans/informal resolutions that will include referrals for services and culture appropriate services in compliance with the IHSS program.

Conduct face to face home visits with children as needed according to at risk assessment tool.

Prepare and participate in weekly case staffings.

Attend Truancy Intervention team meetings as scheduled by the department.

Attend all team or wrap around meetings regarding each case.

Maintain client files; required written documentation such as case notes, referrals, follow-up; log in contacts and collateral contacts.

Other Duties:

Will prepare and submit monthly reports, provide quarterly statistics to the ARC Program Manager.

Maintain essential program documentation relating to achieving program goals and objectives.

Attend program related meetings, training and workshops.

Education and/or Experience:


Must be 18 year or age or older.

Minimum of one (1) year experience in social work or human service field is required.

Experience working in Indian Country is a requirement.


BA/BS Degree in Social Work or related field is preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities:


This is a required driver position.

Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and meet eligibility for tribal

Knowledge and experience in social work best practice standards.

Indian Child Welfare Act and child protection services.

Willing to work with various agencies such as: Tribal/County Social/Human Service Department, court system, ICW Committee, and other related agencies.

Experience working with Indian children and families is a requirement.

Must be willing and able to attend program related training and travel as necessary.

Background Check:

This position is contingent on ability to pass background check required. This position required for eligibility a required driver check, to meet eligibility for tribal insurance. Caregiver background check is also required when working with children and/or elderly.

Language Skills:

This position requires an individual to demonstrate diverse communication skills-written and oral.

Reasoning Ability:

Desire to work with families to create positive solution that will benefit children. The individual applying for this position needs to communicate effectively in a professional setting as well as working with families.
