Child Care Assistance Program
The Bad River Child Care Program provides child care subsidies to eligible families while offering parental choice in selecting a child care provider. Child care may be available for work, employment search, training and education, teen parents in high school, counseling services, self help programs and emergencies. We also offer Child Day Care Certification so that child care providers meet the standards to operate regulated child care services in their homes. Certification qualifies a child care provider to receive subsidy payments and participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
The following funding sources are used for the program:
Wisconsin Shares Child Care: is an income based subsidy program to assist with the cost of child care for low income families residing on the reservation to maintain employment or obtain education. Families are responsible for a portion of the cost of care.
Child Care Developmental Fund (C.C.D.F) : is an income based subsidy program to assist with the cost of child care for low income, Native American families residing on the reservation so they can maintain employment or obtain education. Families are responsible for a portion of the cost of care and may be asked to apply for Wisconsin Shares prior to being eligible for funding.
State Family Services Child Care: Child care for families experiencing emergency or crisis situations, and time-out child care opportunities for foster and placement parents. Services may be limited to referral from a health care professional or Family Services program Coordinator.
