The Tribe seeks comments on the proposed antidegradation decision related to the Wiggins Timber
Harvest Project. This project involves forest management of 48 acres including harvesting of mature
poplar, thinning of spruce to allow for pine regeneration, and replanting of white pine and red pine.
There will also be some incidental harvest of ash. Lastly, the project will include the removal of four
abandoned vehicles plus an old pile of debris from the property. Access to the property will utilize an old
logging road north of Goslin Rd. These activities may have potential impacts to Beartrap Creek, an
Outstanding Tribal Resource Waters (Tier 3 waters) and also wetlands designated as Exceptional
Resource Waters (Tier 2 waters). (READ MORE)
